Amanda Gonzalez joins the PLNU Sports Medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer ahead of the 2026-27 season. She will work primarily with the Women's Cross Country, Women's Basketball and Women's Track & Field teams.
Gonzalez previously worked with PLNU Athletic teams on a per diem basis and was an adjunct professor in the PLNU MSAT and EMT programs.
Amanda played four years on the PLNU Women's Soccer team before graduating from Point Loma in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training. She also completed an MS in Kinesiology - Integrative Wellness in 2025.
Gonzalez has previous working experience as an EMT, firefighter paramedic, high school athletic trainer and as a per diem athletic trainer for the Barnes Tennis Center working with youth recreational to professional athletes.
She is a certified athletic trainer, paramedic, and health & wellness coach.
Amanda lives in San Diego with her husband Gonzo and dog Bowzer.
