Tim Heiduk completed his third year at Point Loma in 2024-25, leading PLNU to the PacWest Sports Information Department of the Year award in each of the past two years.
In 2023-24, he won two CSC Fred Stabley Jr. writing contests, placing first in the District 8 College Division categories of Best Season Preview and Best Event Coverage.
For the past two years, he has served as a national and regional voter for the CSC Division II Women's Basketball Media Poll, as well as a regional voter for the NCBWA Baseball Poll. In 2024-25, he served as a mentor in the CSC Mentorship Program and spoke on a "Maximizing Your Budget" panel at the CSC Unite Conference.
Heiduk oversees athletics communications for all 11 Point Loma programs, while also managing the Point Loma athletics website and social media channels. He joined the Point Loma athletics staff in July 2022.
"It's an absolute honor to join the PLNU athletic staff, and I would like to specifically thank
Ethan Hamilton and
Brian Thornton for their roles in the hiring process," Heiduk said at the time of his hiring. "I was immediately impressed with the professionalism of the athletic department, and I look forward to contributing to the mission of the university as I serve the student-athletes and coaches in this role."
He came to Point Loma from The Master's University, which is an NAIA school that is part of the Golden State Athletic Conference. Heiduk was at The Master's for two athletic seasons, where he covered all 17 intercollegiate teams for the Mustangs and hosted the Mustang Sports Feed podcast.
From 2020-22, Heiduk earned 12 awards across four different categories in the NAIA-SIDA Media & Publications Contest, including five in 2021-22. The year prior, he won first place for entries in "Feature Stories" and "Season Preview/Review." He has also received recognition in the "Game Recaps" and "Call of the Year" categories.
"Tim's passion for collegiate athletics is contagious and we are thrilled to have him join the Sea Lions family," Senior Associate Athletic Director
Brian Thornton said. "His background and perspective as both a standout student-athlete and administrator within the Christian university community will make him a great addition to PLNU Athletics."
Heiduk is a graduate of Westmont College, where he played men's soccer while double-majoring in Communication Studies and Economics & Business. He graduated in 2019 as a three-time NAIA and GSAC scholar-athlete. From 2016 to 2019, he served with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, organizing biweekly events on college and high school campuses. He was awarded the GSAC Cliff Hamlow Champion of Character Award in 2020.
Along with his success in the classroom and community, Heiduk was a standout on the pitch, twice earning All-GSAC honors and being named GSAC Player of the Year as a senior. In his final year, he was also named an NAIA Second Team All-American and received First Team All-American recognition from the United Soccer Coaches.
Upon graduation, Heiduk spent nearly two years as Sports Information Assistant at his alma mater, while working on a master's degree. He completed a Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletics Administration in the summer of 2021 from Concordia University Irvine.
