PLNU's Erick Melendez entered a scoreless deadlock with San Diego Christian in the 65th minute. Thirty seconds later Melendez made a perfect shot 7 yards past the Christian’s keeper. Austin Rovanzzini helped with the assist.

That goal proved to be the game-winner in PLNU's 2-0 triumph.
