Jonathan Tiggs, a freshman from Fort Worth, Texas (North Crowley HS), placed his name on the school's top 10 lists in both the 100m and 200m dashes, while also helping the Sea Lions 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams win the event at the PLNU Collegiate Open. Tiggs won 100m dash with a career-best time of 10.71 to capture fifth place in school history. He won the race by .3 seconds. Tiggs also took home the title in the men's 200m with a time of 21.57 to outdistance three runners from Navy. Both times were National Christian College Athletic Associaiton (NCCAA) standards. Tiggs also ran the final leg on the Sea Lions' 4x100m relay team which registered a season-best time of 41.94 and the second leg on the 4x400m relay team which posted a time of 3:18.46. PLNU won both relays.
