Anessa Chirgwin broke her own school record this past Saturday, throwing the discus an impressive 47.61m at the Ross and Sharon PLNU invitational. No stranger to accolades, the sophomore out of Oregon City Placed 6th for Women's Discus at the 2019 USATF Junior Olympics.

Chirgwin continues to improve, mot only each year, but each throw, shocking the spectators. Chirgwin improved on each of her four attempts in discus and had the two longest throws of the invite. Her third attempt was within a foot of her previous best, the school record she set in 2021, but Chirgwin blew away the felt exceeding her best performance by five feet.

Chirgwin also had a top 10 finish in the Hammer, finishing 6th with a 133'4" in her third attempt. Again, Chirgwin improved on each of her tosses, just topping her 2nd throw by half a meter. Congrats to Anessa on being named Sport Clips MVP of the week.
