Road Woes Continue for PLNU

The Sea Lions were blanked for the third straight time on the road Wednesday, this time by No. 13-ranked Concordia, 3-0. PLNU tumbles to 1-6 overall and has lost the first two GSAC matches.

The Sea Lion offense has been AWOL over the three game road stretch, especially in the last two matches against The Master's and Concordia, taking just five total shots in 180 minutes of play. In addition, only one of the five shots has been on target.

PLNU's defense has been just as suspect, giving up eight goals in two conference matches.

On Wednesday the Sea Lions were outshot 17-2 and all seven shots on target were made by the Eagles (5-3, 1-0 GSAC). Concordia scored the only goal they would need in the 15th minute but would tack on insurance goals in the 19th and 35th minutes of play. The Eagles, who took 10 shots in the first half, attempted seven more in the second but were unable to add to their goal total.

All three CUI scores came by different players: Jon Carlson, Jon Fahey and Joel Smith.

PLNU keeper Eric Leboffe made four saves on the day, three in the first and one in the second.

The Sea Lions will try to get on the winning track at home this Saturday, but that won't be easy. Paying PLNU a visit is the second-ranked Azusa Pacific Cougars. The match is scheduled to start at 1:00 pm.
