Box Score It wasn't the result that the Sea Lions were hoping for. Though PLNU is ranked nine slots higher than Westmont, they were upset by the visiting Warriors 7-2 in the 2010 season opener and a Golden State Athletic Conference match Saturday afternoon.

The loss drops NAIA No. 7-ranked PLNU to 0-1 in both the overall and conference standings while #16 WC now stands at 1-0 overall and in GSAC.

Westmont opened play by taking two of the three doubles points. The Sea Lion duo of Joel Myers and Travis Albaugh claimed a 9-8 victory on court three. The Warriors nearly swept through singles as well, winning all but one match. Trent Brown registered a 6-4, 7-6 win on six for PLNU.

The Sea Lions travel to Costa Mesa on Tuesday for a conference match against No. 6-ranked Vanguard. Competition begins at 2:00 pm.
