Fresh off an upset win at Biola, 6-seed Point Loma Nazarene will 2-seed Azusa Pacific in a GSAC Tournament semifinal game Saturday at 5:30 pm. The game is at top-seed Concordia University of Irvine. CUI takes on Fresno Pacific at 7:30 pm in the other semifinal match up.

If the Sea Lions are to advance to nationals they must beat Azusa Pacific and hope Concordia tops Fresno Pacific. Since CUI is the regular season GSAC champs, they are already an automatic qualifier for nationals, meaning the conference's other automatic berth will go to the team that faces CUI in the finals.
However, if FPU beat Concordia everything changes. PLNU would not only need to beat APU on Saturday, the Sea Lions would have to travel to Fresno on Tuesday and beat the Sunbirds for the tournament title in order to advance to the NAIA Tournament.
But, first things first. NAIA No. 7-ranked Azusa Pacific defeated Point Loma twice during the regular season: 108-104 in double overtime in San Diego and 82-70 in Azusa. The last time the Sea Lions defeated the Cougars was in February of 2008.
