FRESNO, Calif. - Paul Islas registered a hat trick to lead Fresno Pacific over Point Loma 4-0 on Thursday, Nov. 1.

Islas scored his first two goals in the fourth minute of the game as the Sunbirds jumped out to the quick lead. Rodrigo Vianna added a goal in the 11th minute and Islas' hat-trick goal came in 53rd minute on a breakaway to give FPU (13-4-0, 10-3-0 PacWest) the win.

Carter Phillips matched a season-high with eight saves for Point Loma. Fresno Pacific outshot PLNU 25-12. Andrew Sanders had five of the 12 shots for the Sea Lions, and a team-best two shots on goal.

Steven Waite made three of the six saves for the Sunbirds. Jorge Dominguez and Alvaro Nogales each had two assists. These were the 14th, 15th and 16th goals of the season for Islas.

The men's next game will be Saturday, Nov. 3 at Dominican. Kickoff will be at 11:00 a.m.
