Point Loma hits road for rematch with Biola

The Sea Lions and Eagles will face each other for the second time in less than two weeks

WHAT'S HAPPENING:
For the second time in less than two weeks, the Point Loma and Biola women's basketball teams will square off in a non-conference game. This time the Sea Lions will return the trip to La Mirada to face the Eagles on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

A LOOK BACK AT HOMECOMING:
The Sea Lions won their season-opener and Homecoming game over Biola 59-46. Returning third team NAIA All-American Nyla Bailey led the way by hitting 10-of-20 shots from the field and scoring 23 points. PLNU also played excellent defense all game led by five blocks from Abby Boorman. Point Loma held the Eagles to just 26 percent shooting from the field and to 24 percent from long range.

A LOOK AT THE SEA LIONS:
The Sea Lions are 2-1 on the season. After getting the win over Biola to start the year, the Sea Lions then went 1-1 at the Cal State Los Angeles Thanksgiving Classic. Carlotta Kloppenburg is leading the team with 14.7 points per game. She scored a career-high 18 points in Point Loma's 70-43 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills. Nyla Bailey continues to be a force for the Sea Lions. The senior is averaging 12.3 points and 5.0 rebounds a game. As a team PLNU is allowing just 53.7 points per game and its opponents are shooting just 29 percent from the field.

SCOUTNG BIOLA:
The Eagles are 3-3 this season and 2-0 at home. Adijat Adams has led or tied for the team lead in points in all six games, and in rebounds in five contests. She is averaging 16 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Adams has hit 53 percent of her shots from the field and 72 percent at the line. Chelsea Hills is second on the team with 7.8 points and 6.3 rebounds. As a team, BU is holding its opponents to 30 percent shooting, including 26 percent from behind the arc.

NEXT GAMES:
Point Loma will welcome in Azusa Pacific on Saturday to begin Pacific West Conference play. This will be PLNU's first season in the conference. The Sea Lions and Cougars will tipoff at 2:00 p.m. on Dec. 1.
