Sea Lions return to the court on Thursday

THIS WEEK:
The Point Loma men's basketball team will return to the court on Thursday, Jan. 2 when it hosts Holy Names at 7:30 p.m. The Sea Lions enter the game at 7-4 on the season and 2-3 in the Pacific West Conference. Holy Names is 1-10 on the year and 0-3 in the PacWest.

A LOOK AT THE SEA LIONS:
Point Loma moved to 2-3 in the PacWest in its last contest on Dec. 21 against Notre Dame de Namur. Sam Okhotin had a career night in the win with a career-high 23 points, which included 21 in the first half. He hit 5-of-6 shots from behind the arc and 8-of-11 from the field overall. Junior Morgan also added a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.

Hayden Lescault leads the Sea Lions with 16.3 points per game and 3.73 assists. He is shooting .531 percent from the field and .778 percent from the free throw line. Point guard Marek Klassen is second on the team with 14.2 ppg. He is hitting .487 percent of his shots from the field and leads the team with 27 3-pointers on the season. Junior Morgan is the team's leading rebounder with 6.5 per game. He is also averaging 12.8 ppg.   

Point Loma earned a win over Holy Names earlier this season in Oakland, 83-71. Klassen scored 29 points and Lescault added 20 in the win.

A LOOK AT THE HAWKS:
Holy Names enters the contest with a six-game losing streak, including its first three in PacWest play. Harold Perry, Jr. leads the team with 13.1 ppg and 4.9 rebounds. Tyler Fry, who scored 17 against the Sea Lions in their first meeting, is also averaging double figures with 10.0 ppg. 

NEXT WEEK:
Point Loma will travel to Hawaii next week to face three opponents. PLNU will face Hawaii Hilo on Monday, Hawaii Pacific on Wednesday and BYU-Hawaii on Friday.
