SAN DIEGO - Holy Names won a 6-3 decision over the Point Loma men's tennis team on Saturday, Feb. 22.
PLNU (0-6) quickly found itself in a hole as the Hawks (1-3) won all three double matches.Â
The top three student-athletes for the Sea Lions responded with wins, including straight set victories from
Brooks Baldinger and
Michael Zablan at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
Kaptan Kaster took three sets to pick up another team point for PLNU as he defeated Brook Workeneh in No. 3 singles 1-6, 6-4 and 6-2.
However, by earning the three points in doubles HNU set themselves up to need just two points in singles play and it got to three. The Hawks won at positions No. 3-6 to earn the match victory, the first in their program's history.
The PLNU men's tennis team will return to action next Friday, Feb. 28 when it travels to Vanguard.
