SURPRISE, Ariz. - The Sea Lions hoped its momentum from its upset of No. 9 Fresno Pacific on Thursday would carry over it their match against No. 10 ranked Azusa Pacific on Friday (Apr. 18), however that was not the case as the Cougars defeated the Point Loma men's tennis team in the semifinals of the Pacific West Conference Championships, 5-0.
Things could have swung either way in doubles but each time APU was able to get the narrow win. The Cougars won at No. 1s 9-7, at No. 2s 8-6 and at No. 3s 8-6.
APU then picked up two points in singles play to send PLNU to the third place match against BYU-Hawaii on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
