SAN MARCOS - The Point Loma women's volleyball team defeated Cal State San Marcos 25-17, 25-12, 20-25 and 25-18 in a non-conference match on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
The Sea Lions are now 14-8 on the season, while the Cougars drop to 5-18.
Heather Leavitt had a match-high 20 kills to lead Point Loma to the win. She had only three errors and a .370 hitting percentage to go along with nine digs.
Bethany Mandon added 11 kills, and both
Dixie Cooper and
Cayleen Harty chipped in with six kills apiece.
Savannah Wedemeyer had 46 assists in the four sets and
Christin Fisher notched a match-high 21 digs.
Jordan Banich led Cal State San Marcos with 13 kills. She was the only Cougar with double-figure kills. Point Loma outhit CSUSM .303 to .167 in the match, including hitting .548 in the second set with 18 kills and only one error.
Point Loma will return to conference play on Saturday, Oct. 31 when it hosts PacWest-leaders California Baptist at 5:00 p.m.
