CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Point Loma men's tennis team fought back in singles to defeat Pomona-Pitzer 5-4 on Saturday, Feb. 21.
 
The Sea Lions (2-2) trailed 2-1 after doubles as the Sagehens (3-2) won on courts No. 2 and 3. PLNU's doubles point came on court 1 with Andre Staab and Daniel Milliken winning 8-4.
 
That point would be critical as the Sea Lions needed every point in the race to five team points. James Tenbroeck and Jack Alston made quick work of their opponents with sweeps on courts No. 3 and 6, respectively. Staab then helped earn his second team point of the day for PLNU on court 1 with a 6-3, 2-6 and 6-0 win over Jake Yasgoor.
 
Martin Blaho swung the match in favor of the Sea Lions on court 2 as he battled through three sets to defeat Graham Maassen 5-7, 6-1, 6-2  and give PLNU back-to-back victories.
 
Point Loma will now return home for a five-match homestand starting on Monday, Feb. 23 at 1:00 p.m. against No. 19 BYU-Hawaii.
