Hayden Lescault scored a season-high 22 points and Point Loma outrebounded Fresno Pacific by 13 (44-31) to defeat the Sunbirds 73-62 on Friday, Feb. 6.

PLNU (17-5, 10-5 PacWest) has now won four straight games to widen its lead for fifth place in the Pacific West Conference over Hawaii Pacific (8-6 PacWest). The loss places Fresno Pacific at 7-14 on the season and at 3-13 in the PacWest.

Lescault went 8-of-13 from the field, 3-of-6 from 3-point ranger and 3-of-3 from the free throw line. He also added five rebounds. He has now had at least five rebounds in six of the Sea Lions' last seven games.

Trevor Peterson matched a career-high with 11 points. He was 3-of-4 from the field and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe. He also had four rebounds.
Junior Morgan just missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Judd Welfringer added eight points on 4-of-8 shooting and four assists.

Madison Higgins and Roger Paul had 14 points apiece to pace the Sunbirds. Trevon Clayton added a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.

This was the first of a six-game homestand for the Sea Lions. Next week they will host Hawaii Hilo on Tuesday (Feb. 10), Hawaii Pacific on Thursday (Feb. 12) and BYU on Saturday (Feb. 14). Tuesday's and Thursday's contests will tipoff at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday's game at 4:00 p.m. Â The homestand will continue against St. Katherine's on Feb. 20 and conclude on Feb. 26 against Notre Dame de Namur.Â
