SURPRISE, Ariz. - The No. 40 Point Loma men's tennis team saw its hopes of an upset and third place at the PacWest Conference Championships dashes when they fell to No. 17 BYU-Hawaii, 5-2, on Saturday, Apr. 18.

The Sea Lions end their season at 12-11. BYU-Hawaii finished the year at 16-9.

This was the second time this season the Sea Lions and Seasiders matched up, and both times BYU-Hawaii was able to edge PLNU. BYUH jumped on Point Loma in doubles to go on top 3-0.

PLNU continued to battle in singles and picked up victories from No. 24
Andre Staab at No. 1 (6-2 and 6-2) and
CJ Erion at No. 5 (6-1 and 6-1). However, BYU-Hawaii earned a win at No. 3 and then clinched the win with a 6-4 and 6-4 victory at No. 6s.Â
