RIVERSIDE, Calif. - California Baptist proved too much for Point Loma on the volleyball court, Saturday night, as the Lancers won in three sets 25-17, 25-19 and 25-21.
 
The result drops PLNU to 7-11 on the season and to 5-4 in the PacWest. California Baptist remains second in the PacWest with a 9-1 record (14-4 overall).
 
Marissa Hageman was the standout performer for Point Loma. She had 12 kills with just two errors in 25 swings for a .400 hitting percentage. However, Hagemen was about the only Sea Lion to have a good hitting day as the Lancer won the hitting percentage battle .270 to .155. CBU also had eight aces to PLNU's one. Lauren Hackett had a double-double with 16 kills on a .452 hitting percentage and 13 digs to pace California Baptist.
 
Brianna Sizemore added 10 kills and six digs for Point Loma. Cara Keturakis also had 31 assists and Christin Fisher inched within 22 digs of breaking the school's career record with another 15 tonight.
 
Point Loma will now head to Hawaii to face three opponents on Oct. 21-24. PLNU will open with Chaminade on Friday, Oct. 21.
