HONOLULU -
Christin Fisher set a new school-record with 1,946 digs in her career, unfortunately it came in a four-set loss at Chaminade 25-23, 24-26, 25-12 and 25-16 on Friday night (Oct. 21).
Â
The Sea Lions are now 7-12 on the season and 5-5 in the PacWest. Chaminade evened its season record at 10-10 and improved to 4-7 in the PacWest.
Â
Fisher collected 23 digs in the match to place her name on the top of the history books. The senior came to PLNU from Murrieta, Calif. (Murrieta HS), and has been a starter from the time she walked on the court. She has averaged 507 digs each year to top Nicole Eiler's previous school-record of 1,944. However, despite the record-setting night it was not enough to help Point Loma overcome Chaminade's distinct hitting percentage advantage.
Â
The Silverswords were very efficient on the attack as they posted a .292 hitting percentage compared to a .108 mark for the Sea Lions. It led CUH to advantages in most categories including kills (65-37) and blocks (8-3).
Â
Emma Tecklenburg had 14 kills to lead four Silverswords in double-figures.
Brianna Sizemore was the only Sea Lion in double-figure kills with 12.
Â
The Sea Lions will continue their Hawaiian road trip on Saturday, Oct. 22 with a match against BYU-Hawaii at 10:30 p.m. (PST).Â
