A look at the Sea Lions
Point Loma enters the game at 11-8 and in 10th place in the PacWest with a 6-6 record. The Sea Lions had their four-game winning streak snapped last Saturday against BYU-Hawaii to finish January with a 6-3 record.

Point Loma has been hit hard with injuries recently, and only one of their five seniors will be suiting up this Saturday (Roedl). PLNU will also have only one of its opening day starters in the lineup (Burnham). This has created opportunities for others, and Josh Rodriguez has taken full advantage. He is leading the team and ranked sixth in the PacWest with 16.8 points per game. He is also fifth in the country with 6.8 assists per contest and 75th in steals. Tanner Lancona is averaging 13.5 ppg, and ranks third in the PacWest with a .559 field goal percentage. He is also fourth in blocks per game (1.11). The Sea Lions' other two double-digit scorers, Sam Okhotin (15.6 ppg) and Judd Welfringer (10.1 ppg), will not suit up for this contest. Mike Planeta's average dipped to 9.9 ppg.

As a team, Point Loma leads the conference and ranks 17th nationally with a .494 shooting percentage. The Sea Lions also rank second in the league in 3-point percentage (.400) and 3-pointers per game (9.9). The Sea Lions are averaging 77.7 ppg and holding their opponents to 76.7 ppg.

A look at the Sharks
Hawaii Pacific is 14-7 this season and in fourth place in the PacWest standings with a 9-5 conference record. Chauncey Orr leads the Sharks with 15.0 ppg and is shooting .505 percent from the field and .439 percent from 3-point range. He is also averaging 5.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Luke Hager is helping Orr with 13.5 ppg and a team-leading 6.7 rebounds. As a team, HPU is averaging 76.7 ppg and holding their opponents to 72.8 ppg.

Point Loma will host Dominican (CA) on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m., before going on the road to face Azusa Pacific on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 8:00 p.m.
