SAN DIEGO - The Point Loma volleyball team fell in three sets to Chadron State in its season opener, 26-24, 25-21 and 25-20, at the Seaside Invitational. (Sept. 2).
 
Point Loma (0-1) was in every set but after CSC (1-1) found a way to take the first one in extra points and the Sea Lions could not bounce back.
 
Alyssa Rifilato led Point Loma with a career-high 12 kills and a .308 hitting percentage. Christin Fisher added 17 digs and Cara Keturakis paced the team with 16 assists.
 
Rudy Leasau was the only Eagle with double-figure kills. She had 12. Chadron State outhit PLNU in the match .250 to .209 and found a way to close out every set.
