SAN DIEGO - Dixie State scored a goal 37 seconds into the match and made it hold up in a 1-0 win over the Point Loma men's soccer team on Saturday, Sept. 24.
 
Point Loma (1-3-3, 0-2-0 PacWest) is now winless in its last six matches. Dixie State improved to 4-3-0 with the win and 2-0-0 in the PacWest.
 
Christian Hall posted the only goal of the match before anyone could blink. Dixie State had the first possession and it looked like PLNU had stopped their first attack but the ball was loose in the box and it found the feet of Hall who slammed it into the net for the goal.
 
PLNU would have numerous chances at the equalizer throughout the match but never struck the ball squarely enough on their good looks. According to coach Wolf, the Sea Lions had six good opportunities, including two with no goalie to block the shot, but PLNU could not get the quality touch it needed to get the goal. Point Loma ended up outshooting the Trailblazers 11-5, but it could not find that elusive equalizing goal. The Sea Lions' scoreless streak is now at 515 minutes.
 
Michael Lambert had a match-high three saves, while his counterpart from Dixie State, Bradley Trella, made two saves.

Point Loma will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 29 when it hosts Concordia (2-2-2, 1-0-0 PacWest) in its annual night match at 5:00 p.m.
