FRESNO, Calif. - The Point Loma volleyball team went on the road and earned a 25-20, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-19 win over Fresno Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 14.
 
Julia Malinas returned to the court and led Pint Loma with 17 kills and a .302 hitting percentage. Jaime Cymbaluk added 14 kills and just three errors for a .282 hitting percentage. The Sea Lions' defense was the key to the match. PLNU outblocked FPU 11-7 and made seven less hitting errors.

Turning Point
Point Loma winning the second set gave the team confidence and the chance to close the match out quickly on the road. While the Sea Lions lost the third set, they had more energy to complete the match.
 
PacWest Implications
The victory lifts the Sea Lions to 4-6 in the PacWest and into a tie for 10th place with Chaminade. Fresno Pacific dropped to fifth in the PacWest with the loss.
