SAN DIEGO—Point Loma took on the Eagles of Concordia University Irvine on Thursday dropping the game in four sets, 3-1. After being down 11-5 in the first set the Sea Lions would go on an 7-point run to take the lead and would eventually win the first set 25-20. Concordia struggled offensively in the first set, but picked it up in the second set helping them take three straight sets for the win.
Point Loma was on fire out of the gate posting a .292 hitting percentage for the first game. As Concordia got stronger offensively, the Sea Lions seemed to lose their effectiveness and struggled hitting around the block.
Jaime Cymbaluk had one of her best games and posted a career-best 15 kills for the game.
Alyssa Rifilato also had a solid all-around match posting 8 kills and 11 digs for the Sea Lions.

"This is something that goes on in virtually every volleyball gym across the country. It is cool to see how the sport as a whole has taken on Dig Pink."

"She had a great matchup, she was able to exploit that and find success."

"Art is a physical team, they will be hungry and we have to be prepared."
