Two of the PacWest's best faceoff in Riverside

This week
The Point Loma's men's soccer will be traveling to Riverside to play No.9 ranked California Baptist on their home turf this Saturday, Oct. 7th at 3:30 p.m. CBU leads the PacWest with 12 points, and the Sea Lions are tied for third with 10.

A look at the Sea Lions
Point Loma (6-2-1, 3-0-1 PacWest) is off to a solid start this season, as the Sea Lions are undefeated after their last seven games, which includes winning six straight. PLNU is coming off a win and a tie at home last week against Dominican and Notre Dame de Namur, respectively. The Sea Lions and Notre Dame de Namur are tied for third in the PacWest standings with 10 points.  

Junior goalkeeper, Wiktor Lasota, leads the conference in shutouts (four) and is second in save percentage (.853) and goals against average (.638). He also holds his spot nationally, being ranked 13th for save percentages and 17th for shutouts. Senior midfielders Chris Reingen and Eduardo Gallardo, along with freshman midfielder Tim Siegfried have each scored two goals to pace the team. PLNU's Gallardo is ranked sixth in the conference for game-winning goals.

As a team, Point Loma is leading the conference in shutout percentage (0.56). The Sea Lions are second in the PacWest in team goals against average (0.651) and save percentages (0.854).

A look at the Lancers
California Baptist is ranked ninth in the nation with a 7-1 record (4-0-0 PacWest). Junior Aidan Apodaca has been a big part of the Lancer's success this season; averaging 2.11 goals and 4.44 points per game. The Lancers have played nine games, totaling 33 goals and 33 assists. Tied for first in the conference alongside Concordia, California Baptist averages 3.667 points per game.

Next matches
The Sea Lions will be welcoming Chaminade to The Point on Monday, Oct. 7th. The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. PLNU will then be greeting Hawaii Hilo and facing off against the Vulcans. Both matches will be the first part of a three-match homestand.
