RIVERSIDE, Calif.  - The Point Loma women's soccer team experience a turn of fortunes from last week as California Baptist scored a goal 25 seconds into the match and held on for a 2-1.
 
Dow took advantage of a mistake by the Sea Lions' backline as they failed to clear the ball. Dow collected the errant kick and drilled it into the goal from six yards out to put the Lancers up 1-0. This came on the heels of PLNU scoring 17 seconds into the match last Thursday to defeat Dominican, 1-0.
 
CBU would add another goal in the 62nd minute to take a commanding 2-0 lead. Abbi Swanson cut the lead in half with her first goal in the 72nd minute, but it was too little too late.

The victory keeps CBU atop the PacWest standings with 15 points. The loss drops PL NU into a tie for ninth with six points.

The goal 25 seconds into the match put all the momentum on the Lancers' side, and it would stay there all match.  The Sea Lions were never able to take control of the match despite playing well for extended periods.
