Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

That's another 3 points for Loma!

SAN DIEGO - Indiana Fuller assisted on a goal to Tim Siegfried and scored one of his own just four minutes later to lead the Point Loma men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Chaminade on Monday, Oct. 9. This extended PLNU's undefeated streak to nine straight matches, and its shutout streak to 704 consecutive minutes.

Fuller set up Siegfried for the first score by passing the ball from right side across the field to the far post where Siegfried headed it into the back of the net. Fuller gave the Sea Lions' a 2-0 lead with his second goal of the season in the 27th minute. After a PLNU attack, Chaminade was working the ball around its backline and Fuller powered through a defender to steal the ball and set up a 1v1 with the keeper. He did not miss his opportunity as he drilled the ball past the keeper to match the Sea Lions' largest lead of the season.

PacWest Implications
The three points from the victory moves PLNU into sole possession of third place in the PacWest with 14 points. Just three points separate the top 4 teams in the PacWest. The loss kept Chaminade in 12th place with four points.

The Turning Point
Indiana Fuller's goal came right on the heels of the Sea Lions' first score and allowed the whole team to play with its largest lead of the season.

Wolf's Words
On the unbeaten streak: "The standards in the NCAA West Region are really high so if you really want to be a player when they are handing out NCAA Tournament bids you have to keep winning. You can't afford to drop points. The reality is we dropped some points early in the season and we just have to keep coming out and fighting for three points each time."

On the shutout streak: "This speaks about the team. We ask our front players and midfielders to defend, it is not just the back four and Wiktor. I am really proud of all of them."

On scoring early: "Ultimately the success of this group will fall, not in our defending, but in our ability to take chances and score enough goals. Right now we are not scoring at a high enough rate so because of that we have to extend ourselves. Even today was not an easy game for us. Until we get to the point where we are scoring two to three goals per match we are not going to be comfortable in many of our games. Hopefully, today was the start of putting the ball into the back of the net more."

On Indiana Fuller: "If Indy can get it right he is a really dangerous player. He doesn't always get it right but when he can get his head around it he can do some good things. If he can just simplify some things he can be a really good player at this level. But obviously today he was really good."
