SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Point Loma men's tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss in its season opener at Westmont on Saturday, Feb. 4.
 
PLNU picked up points in singles at No. 3 with Jack Alston (6-2, 7-5) and at No. 5 with Jesse Miritello (3-6, 6-3 and 10-8). Miritello also paired with CJ Erion at No. 2 doubles to edge out the duo from the Warriors 9-7.
 
The match could have gone either way with the results of the doubles matches, all of which ended in 9-7 results. However, Westmont was able to take two of the three results to get the match victory.
 
The Sea Lions' next match will be its home opener. They will host UC San Diego on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m.
