SAN DIEGO - The Point Loma men's tennis team overcame losses in all three doubles matches by sweeping singles to defeat San Diego Christian, 6-3, on Thursday, Mar. 30.
 
The Sea Lions have now won back-to-back matches to improve to 4-12 on the season. San Diego Christian drops to 4-7.
 
The match started with the Hawks sweeping doubles to take a 3-0 lead. PLNU had chances on court 2 and 3, but the Hawks closed out close victories on both courts.
 
Despite the deficit Point Loma did not give up hope and every member of the team stepped up to deliver the Sea Lions' a victory. Jesse Miritello, Yuki Okamoto, Jack Alston and CJ Erion all won in straight sets. Tim Soderman closed out a tightly contested three-set match with a 5-7, 6-4 and 6-4 victory. Brendon Millington added a tiebreaker win on court 1 (6-7, 7-5, 10-8).
 
The Sea Lions will be back on the court on Saturday, Apr. 1 at Azusa Pacific for an 11 a.m. match.
