SAN DIEGO - The Point Loma men's tennis team had No. 23 Concordia on the ropes but could not close the deal and fell, 5-4, in the regular season finale on Thursday, Apr. 13.
 
The Sea Lions (4-17) built a 2-1 lead after doubles and were up 4-1 after Brendon Millington and CJ Erion earned straight set victories on courts 1 and 2, respectively.
 
Concordia (11-8) started its comeback with wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles. That closed the Sea Lions' lead to 4-3. Mark Penner won his first set 6-2 on court 6 but Thijs Hagen came back with 7-5 and 6-1 wins in sets 2 and 3, respectively, to win the match. Jack Alston also picked up a first set win before his opponent came back to win 5-7, 7-5 and 6-1.
 
Point Loma will now head to the PacWest Championships on Apr. 20-22 in Surprise, Ariz.
