SURPRISE, Ariz. - The Point Loma men's tennis team moved into the consolation portion of the PacWest Championship bracket after dropping their opening round match to Azusa Pacific, 5-0, on Thursday, Apr. 20.
 
Azusa Pacific (19-13), which is ranked No. 3 in the region and No. 11 in the country, quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles. Jesse Miritello and CJ Erion put up the best fight for the Sea Lions as they pushed the No. 2 doubles team in the country, but in the end fell 8-5.
 
In singles, APU was able to pick up a pair of straight set victories to close out the match.
 
The Sea Lions will be back on the court in the semifinals of the consolation bracket against Holy Names at 9 a.m.
