SURPRISE, Ariz. - The Point Loma men's tennis team won the seventh place match at the PacWest Championships, defeating Sonoma State 5-1.
 
Point Loma (5-19) went ahead in doubles, 2-1, with victories on courts 2 and 3. Brendon Millington and Jack Alston captured the first point of the match with an 8-2 on court 2. The Seawolves answered back with an 8-6 win on court 1. Knowing how critical it is to get to into singles with the lead (and momentum), Grant Alston and Yuki Okamoto grinded out an 8-6 victory.
 
That win seemed to give the Sea Lions just a little extra edge as singles began.  CJ Erion swept his opponent on court 2 in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. Mark Penner recorded another win at No. 6 singles with a 6-4, 6-3 defeat of Dylan King. Brendon Millington captured the divisive fifth point with  a 6-2, 6-4 win on court 1.
