HONOLULU - The Point Loma women's soccer team extended their unbeaten streak to 12 straight by sneaking by Hawaii Pacific on the road, 1-0. (Oct. 18)
Â
Abbi Swanson scored the match's lone goal in the 51st minute off a little corner kick trickery. PLNU sent both
Bella Diaz and
Abbi Swanson over on the corner kick. Swanson left a short pass for Diaz, who immediately gave it back to Swanson for a deep shot, which hooked right inside the goal.
Â
That goal turned the match around as prior to Swanson's boot, HPU was more in control of the match. The Sharks had outshot PLNU 6-2 in the first half (4-2 shots on goal), but everything changed with the goal. Point Loma outshot HPU in the second half 11-7.
Â
Emma Hinson made five saves for the Sea Lions. Lauren Spencer had six stops for the Sharks.
