SAN DIEGO–After a tough five-set loss to Hawaii Pacific, the Sea Lions had a quick turnaround to face one of the hottest teams in the conference, Chaminade, who was riding a seven-match win streak into last night. The two teams played tough, with no set decided by more than three points, but it would be the Silverswords who came away with the four-set victory over Point Loma.
The Sea Lions were on the board first as they hit .303 in the first set on their way to a 25-22 victory. Despite struggling with hitting errors in the second set, Point Loma was able to push the Silverswords to extra points but fell 27-25, evening the match at one set apiece. Chaminade took that momentum into set three and were able to string together a couple of runs that put that match out of reach for PLNU. The Sea Lions were able to play close in the fourth set as well, but once again Chaminade was able to close out the set for the win.
Jaime Cymbaluk totaled 18 kills for the match, on a .325 hitting percentage, which was her second-highest total of the season.
Kayla Chapman added 14 kills for the Sea Lions, hitting .367, a season-high for the senior.
Courtney Dyer put together another solid defensive effort, totaling 22 kills on the night, adding five assists for the match as well.

PacWest Implications
The Sea Lions are now out of contention for the PacWest title, but could still have an outside chance at making the postseason with an at-large bid. Chaminade remains in contention for the title, but they will need APU and Biola to suffer losses to have that chance.
