CYMBALUK, CHAPMAN HELP POWER PLNU TO VICTORY

SAN DIEGO – In the last weekend of the regular season, the Sea Lions round out conference play and their home schedule as they welcomed Notre Dame de Namur to San Diego. It was a 3-0 sweep when the Sea Lions met the Argonauts on their home court and the team would look to do the same again on Friday night.

Point Loma powered to a 25-14 win the first set behind 19 kills and a .400 hitting percentage. Defensively, the Sea Lions had the dig advantage, 25-15, and held the Argonauts to a .100 hitting percentage in set one. NDNU would turn the tables though as they put together a solid offensive effort in set two. The Argonauts hit for .382 in the set with zero hitting errors. PLNU put up another solid defensive effort but late errors helped NDNU to the 26-24 win.

It would be all Sea Lions after set two as the team put down 31 more kills over the last two sets, and three hitters would earn double-digit kills. The defense was upped yet again as the blocking game came together for Point Loma who had three blocks in set three, and four in the fourth and final set. Point Loma tallied 81 digs as a team, to NDNU's 56, and also came away with 11 aces in the match.

Jaime Cymbaluk led all hitters with 17 kills, swinging at a .400 percentage, and also added four aces and four digs on the night. Kayla Chapman came away with 16 kills, on a .556 hitting percentage, with three digs and three block assists. Cara Keturakis totaled 56 assists, nine digs and five kills in the win. The Sea Lions also had three different players tally double-digit digs; Courtney Dyer (21), Rachael Schlect (17), and Celeste Friesen (15).
