SAN DIEGO - After earning a tough 5-4 road win over Concordia-Irvine earlier in the season, the Sea Lions looked to use their home court advantage to earn the season sweep over the Eagles. The team fell behind after doubles play, but the team was able to rally to win five singles matches on the way to a 6-3 win and a season sweep over CUI.

Ellie Gamble and Nikki Newell got the Sea Lions out to the right start as they quickly took their doubles match 8-2 to start the day. The Eagles would come back to take the other two doubles matches, each with a score of 8-6, and took a 2-1 lead into singles play.

Gabi Armas would continue her strong play with a quick 6-3, 6-1 win to earn the first singles point of the match. With the match tied 2-2, the Sea Lions would win three straight matches to clinch the match. Ellie Gamble went 2-0 on the day and earned a win at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-4, to help PLNU to victory. Shelby Groeneveld and Michelle Torres would each come away with victories as well to help clinch the match for Point Loma. With the match already in hand, Nikki Newell was able to earn a huge three-set win over the 26th ranked player in the country, Anastasiia Kuprina.
