VULCANS CLIP SEA LIONS IN 10 INNINGS

HILO, Hawaii - Hawaii Hilo scored four unanswered runs after the sixth inning to come from behind and defeat the Point Loma baseball team 6-5 in 10 innings.

PLNU got up 5-2 after six innings thanks to scoring single runs every innings between the second and the sixth. UHH answered with single runs in the sixth and seventh, before tying it at 5-5 in the eighth on a wild pitch. In the 10th, Dylan Sugimoto drew a one-out walk and then advanced to second on a wild pitch before Jonathan Segovia singled him for the game-winning run.

The comeback spoiled another quality outing from freshman starter Garrett Irvin. He went seven innings allowing four hits and four runs (one earned) while walking two and striking out seven, but was forced to settle with a no-decision. John Kea (1-1) earned the win by going 1.1 innings in relief.

Darian Sylvester was 3-for-4 with a run scored for PLNU. Nico Anderson was 2-for-3 with two run scored and Tyler Flores connected on his seventh home run of the season. Segovia (2-for-4) was the only Vulcan to post a multi-hit game.
