SAN DIEGO -
Tim Siegfried scored two goals, including the second in double overtime, and assisted on another to lead the Point Loma men's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Â
In the 10th minute, Siegfried connected a cross with
Jacob Eisenberg for the header to give Point Loma the early lead. NNU answered back with goals in the 19th and 21st minutes to go up 2-1.
Â
The score remained that way until the 77th minute when an NNU defender dragged down
Finn Tiedemann in the box for a penalty kick. Siegfried connected on the penalty shot in the top right of the net and the match would go to overtime.
Â
After a scoreless first overtime period, PLNU seemed to have an extra step and their will to win shined through. Point Loma was constantly on the attack in the second overtime but did not get a shot until
Indiana Fuller was able to beat his man on the right side of the field and center the ball into the box. The ball was touched by a defender who could not clear it and Siegfried was able to win the loose ball in the box and deposit it into the back of the net for the win.
Â
Goalkeeper
Wiktor Lasota made some great saves to keep the Sea Lions in the contest and finished with six stops on the day. NNU's Jacob Hillyer had five saves.

Wolf's Words
On Siegfried's last goal: "It was just his third game back and he was looking tired so we were contemplating taking him off right before. But the thing about Tim is that he will take a chance when it falls to him. He also stepped up on that penalty kick."
Â
More on Tim: "We need him to produce goals and assits. This team is short of guys that can do those things and we need him to help us create.
Â
On positives in the match: "We looked more dangerous than we have all season."
Â
On negatives in the match: "To concede to goals the way we did was really silly, so we still have some work to do but hopefully we can get there."
Â
On the next match at Biola: "It is a tricky game because it is a conference opponent but in a non-conference contest. We have one more match to get everything tied and buttoned up."
