IRVINE, Calif. - The Point Loma men's soccer team took a 1-0 loss at Concordia on Saturday, to put a damper on their postseason hopes.

The Eagles scored the only goal of the match in the 77th minute on the second phase of a corner kick by Willy Ospina. PLNU then pressed up trying to get the equalizer, but it never came. Their best chance came on a free kick in the 82nd minute.
David Achaerandio took the shot from 25 yards out off a free kick, and it had a chance, but Mackenzie Hutchins made the save. Point Loma did not get a shot the rest of the game, and their corner kick attempt in the final second came up short.

CUI outshot PLNU in the game 14-10, but it was even in shots on goal (5-5).
Connor McEwen made four saves for the Sea Lions, and Hutchins had five for the Eagles.

Despite the loss PLNU remained one point up on Concordia for second place in the PacWest standings. However, the Sea Lions have played one more conference game at this point.

On the match: "This was a tough result to take, but it comes down to the fact that we just weren't dangerous enough. We did not create enough chances against them. They sat deep and made it very difficult for us. We just couldn't find a way to get it done."
