Words from Coach Kiely
On what she saw from her team today: "Progress is the big word we said at halftime and the word at the end of the game. We feel like we are making progress and continuing to get better. I do appreciate the discipline of the ladies, and they are always responsible for what they are supposed to be doing. The things that were frustrating for all of us about our last game showed up in a different way, and became positives for us today."
Â
On the Sea Lions playing many student-athletes: "We are a little banged up at the start of this year, so we are still getting some people back, and they are helping us. On paper we are a deep team."
Â
On Glaser's goal: "That was great for Jules. She had a lot of shots today, and she'll want to continue to work to get more quality looks for herself. Getting that goal gets her back in the mindset. You could tell a weight was lifted. She was all smiles after that, and we could just tell Jules was back."
Â
On Carrell's goal: "What a dream. She battled two years of not playing. She looked so good this week in training, and we were just itching to get her in. It was so fun for her to get a goal and for all that work to feel like it paid off immediately. It doesn't usually happen that way. It was a relief and a privilege to get to finish the way she did."
Â
On the upcoming match at Cal State LA: "Right now the PacWest is 0-2 against them, so we know they are going to be tough to break down."
Â
On the win: "We had progress today, so we are going to enjoy this win for 24 hours, and we get back to focusing on our next opponent tomorrow."
