BALANCED ATTACK SENDS SEA LIONS FLYING PAST HAWKS

SAN DIEGO - The Sea Lions used a balanced attack with four players in double figures to down Holy Names 77-62 Thursday night at Golden Gymnasium. (Feb 20)
 
Brock Mackenzie and Jordan May led the way with 16 points each with fellow starters Kaden Anderson  and Sterling Sommers chipping in 14 and 13 points, respectively.
 
The sophomore Mackenzie continued his recent hot shooting; going 4-of 10 from 3-point range, while adding four rebounds, two assists and two steals on the night.  Darnel Robateau registered eight points with eight rebounds and eight assists.  The Sea Lions finished the game shooting .476 percent from the field.  Guard Rob Fuller had 15 points and five rebounds for the visiting Hawks before fouling out.    Aidan Green and Justin Chambers came off the bench scoring 13 and 15 points, respectively.
 
Point Loma's largest lead was 19 after a 10-0 scoring run with 1:23 left in the game.  The Sea Lions led for 35 of 40 minutes in the contest.

PacWest Implications
The win, coupled with Concordia's win tonight, keeps Point Loma a game ahead of the Eagles for the No. 2 seed in the PacWest Tournament. Holy Names is now tied for 10th after the loss.
 
Turning Point
After Holy Names cut the Sea Lions' lead to five (57-52) with 6:38 remaining, Point Loma went on a 19-5 run to end any hopes the Hawks had of a comeback.
 
News and Notes
> The Sea Lions are now 15-1 when scoring 73 or more points
> Point Loma has been outrebounded in six of its last seven games after losing the rebounding battle just four times in the first 18 games of the season
> PLNU has hit 10 or more 3-pointers in a game 12 times this season (11-1)

Up Next
Point Loma will close out its home schedule on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. against Notre Dame de Namur. It will also be senior day for four-year letterwinner Sterling Somers.
