SAN DIEGO – After a slow start to the game, the Point Loma women's basketball team outscored Holy Names 54-29 in the second half to earn a 93-61 win and capture their 11th PacWest victory.
Three Sea Lions posted double-doubles as Point Loma dominated the glass 60-31.
Haylee Saurette paced Point Loma off the bench with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting. She added 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
Onjalise Carley-Hilliard recorded her second straight double-double with 14 points and a season-best 14 rebounds.
Cara Liggins added 17 points and 10 boards for her team-leading seventh double-double.
Carol Schroeder and
Kennedi Byram added 10 and 14 points, respectively, to give PLNU five student-athletes in double-figures. Gernijah Martin led Holy Names with 20 points.
PLNU struggled for portions of the first half, including shooting just .238 percent in the second quarter but still led 39-32 at halftime. Right after the half, Point Loma went on a 14-2 run to push their lead to 18 points, and they extended it to 25 by the end of the third quarter (66-41).

PacWest Implications
The win moves PLNU three games up on Hawaii Hilo for the sixth spot in the PacWest tournament with three games remaining. Holy Names remains at the bottom of the standings with the loss.
