With UCSD leading 2-1 and four points still out there PLNU began to play aggressively.

Ellie Gamble would come out victorious against their opponents. Unfortunately, Point Loma could not win another match and fell to the Tritons by a score of 4-3.
Words from Wheeler
On today's match overall: "I thought the team came out ready to go. We had some really tough matches in doubles play that I felt we could have won, but came up just short. We were one point short in singles play and winning the match. Overall I liked the way the ladies came out and competed today."
On Ellie and Taylor's play: "Those two are our senior leaders and co-captians and today they played like seniors. They were focused, calm and not up and down with their emotions. They competed the right way and it showed."
On the energy and emotion of the rivalry: "We have had a lot of close matches with them since I've been coaching here. We both have a lot of local girls so they know each other and that adds to the rivalry a little bit I think. The two teams bring out the best in each other each time we play. These matches are important ones from a regional persepective and I know our ladies can't wait to compete against them again in about a month and a half."
