SONOMA, Calif. – Due to the rain received in the Bay Area Point Loma and Sonoma State played a different format where they started with singles play. Point Loma would come out victorious, winning 4-2.

Because of the rain, the match got pushed back till 1 pm. With the rain delaying the match PLNU and Sonoma State played as usual but started with singles, and would play doubles if necessary.

For the Sea Lions, the road trip did not start great as they dropped their first two matches and were down 2-0 early. PLNU came storming back after Gabi Armas got the first point for the Sea Lions and cut into the Sonoma lead. Angelique Friedrich then knotted the game up at two apiece defeating her opponent in three sets. Taylor McGowan got the third point for the Sea Lions and they were looking for one more.

Samantha Neilson called game, set, match defeating her opponent in three sets and giving PLNU the 4-2 victory over Sonoma State.
