OAKLAND, Calif. – The Point Loma women's tennis team picked up their second victory in three days as they soared past Holy Names 7-0.

Point Loma started strong and would never look back. Taylor McGowan and Gabi Armas won their doubles match handily in the No. 2 position. They defeated their opponents 6-2. Ellie Gamble and Rachel Whittington followed suit in the No. 1 position defeating their opponents also 6-2. The two victories sealed the doubles play point for the Sea Lions and they would go to singles play up 1-0.

After gaining the doubles play point PLNU carried that momentum over to singles play. Angelique Friedrich who was playing in the No. 1 position did not allow her opponent to win a game and won her match in straight sets by scores of 6-0 and 6-0. Faith Pearson garnered the third point for the Sea Lions defeating her opponent 6-2 and 6-1. PLNU needed just one more point to seal the victory and Gabi Armas would be the one to capture the point.

The Sea Lions won their other two singles play matches and went on to sweep the hawks 7-0.
