LOOMIS' 2ND HALF GOAL LIFTS SEA LIONS TO VICTORY

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Sea Lions went on the road to face Westmont today, Feb, 10 and came away with a 2-1 victory. An early goal in the second half by Hunter Loomis proved to be the difference Coach Wolf and his team would face a familiar foe as the Warriors are coached by Wolf's brother, Dave.

The first half of the game was controlled by the Warriors. Westmont put up six shots and had two corners in the half. Two of the six shots were on net for Westmont. The Sea Lion defense held strong with the momentum solely with the Warriors not allowing a goal.

The momentum shifted just before the half when the Warriors fouled Tim Siegfried in the box giving the Sea Lions a penalty kick. Siegfried stepped up and netted the PK giving the Sea Lions momentum going into halftime.

Less than five minutes into the second half Hunter Loomis added a second goal for the Sea Lions, with Tim Siegfried assisting. Seven minutes later the Warriors would respond with a goal of their cutting into the PLNU lead, 2-1.

After the goal, the PLNU defense did not allow the Warriors to get another shot on net. The Sea Lions held on to win 2-1 and improve to 2-0 in the 2020-21 season.

Wolf's Words
Thoughts on the game: "Today was a tough, hard, scrappy, game but that's what it's like on the road sometimes. I'm proud of our guys they fought hard and came away with a win."

On Hunter Loomis' play through two games: "Hunter made a great run on a pass from Tim Siegfried. The same thing with Tim's goal, and to score goals you need to run and that's what they did."

On getting a win against his brother: "It's always fun to play against him. There are certain aspects that I like when we play him, and certain aspects I don't like when we play. He always has a good, tough team, and he is a good coach, but yeah it's always nice getting a win."
