SAN DIEGO – The Point Loma men's tennis team got back to their winning ways with a strong performance against Biola. PLNU won the match 4-1 and were dominant in all facets of the match today (Feb. 20).
The Sea Lions started quickly and never looked back.
Yuki Okamoto and
Tyler Davis handled their opponent in double play rather easily defeating those 6-2.
Tales Silva and
Alejandro Castaneda would battle with their opponent before ultimately pulling it out 6-4 to secure the doubles point for PLNU.
The match moved to singles play and the Sea Lions looked to keep the momentum.
Tyler Davis recorded another point for the Sea Lions defeating his opponent in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, and 6-3. With a 2-0 lead, PLNU did not take their foot off the gas.
Tales Silva got Point Loma another point with a three-set victory over his opponent.
With PLNU up 3-0 and needing just one point to win the match
David Strassburger came through and got the Sea Lions the fourth point to secure the victory. Biola did record a point as Isaac Cordova defeated
Jasdeep Paintal in three sets.
