SAN DIEGO – Point Loma men's tennis took to the road Friday, March 5 as they renewed their rivalry against Azusa Pacific. The Sea Lions ran into a buzz saw that is the No. 8 ranked Cougars losing 6-0.
PLNU had a chance to steal some early momentum by getting the doubles point but was only able to pull out one match win.
Tales Silva and Alejandro Castenada pulled out a 6-4 victory over the Cougars. That was all PLNU was able to get throughout the match.
The Sea Lions played the Cougars tough but APU proved to be too much for the Sea Lions to handle. The eighth-ranked team in the country won all the singles matches in straight sets. PLNU battled but was unable to overcome an early deficit. The Cougars went on to win the match 6-0.
