SAN DIEGO - Point Loma Women's Tennis lost their first match in over 10 months to Cal State Fullerton. The Division I opponent was too much for PLNU.
The match started with doubles play and Cal State Fullerton took the point. Cal State Fullerton won in the No. 2 and No. 3 positions but PLNU got the best of the Titans in the No. 1 position.
Angelique Friedrich and
Gabi Armas were able to pull out the victory in doubles play but that was not enough to overcome Fullerton in doubles play.
Singles play was harsh to the Sea Lions. The Titans won the first four matches giving them a 5-0 lead over Point Loma.
Amanda Letzring pulled through in her match winning 7-5 and 6-3 over her opponent. The Sea Lions were not able to pull any closer as Cal State Fullerton won the final match and took the match 6-1.
This was the first loss for PLNU in over 10 months.
