SAN DIEGO – The Point Loma women's tennis bounced back after a two-game skid that saw them lose to nationally ranked Azusa Pacific and Division I opponent Cal State Fullerton. PLNU got back to .500 on the season with a 4-0 win over Western New Mexico.
The Sea Lions jumped on the WNMU early and didn't look back.
Rachel Whittington and
Thelma Sepulveda took down their opponent in the No. 3 posistion with ease defeating them 6-0.
Samantha Neilson and
Faith Pearson followed their lead and won their match 6-1 in the No. 2 position. PLNU took the doubles point as the match turned to singles play.
Singles play was not much of a sweat for the Sea Lions.
Rachel Whittington,
Gabi Armas, and
Samantha Neilson each defeated their opponents in straight sets to give PLNU the clinch-win victory. PLNU was ahead in all singles matches when the match was clinched.
